Services - Permanency

Health Services Unit

T

ypically, children who enter the foster care system have more chronic medical conditions than other children from the same economic background.

This is usually due to them receiving intermittent or no health services prior to entering foster care. In addition to having unmet or unidentified medical problems, a significant number of these children tend to have a higher rate of birth defects.

The primary goal of the Health Services Department is for every child, adolescent or client to achieve their maximum health potential.
