Kids Shine!

he Kids Shine! Program works with pre-teenagers between the ages 7-11 whose mothers have been, or currently are, incarcerated. The program meets regularly on Saturdays providing a safe & fun setting for youth to:

• Develop relationships with positive adults to support and encourage them toward positive goals.
• Develop social skills through activities like ice skating, movies, and bowling.
• Explore New York City neighborhoods, events, and cultural attractions.
• Share feelings related to having a mother in prison and make friends with peers who have similar life experiences.
• Learn conflict resolution, leadership skills, and critical thinking techniques to help develop a healthy self esteem.
