One Plus One Mentoring

Mentoring Makes a Difference: Mentoring has been national recognized as having positive outcomes for youth and in 2003 the federal government launched a special initiative to ensure that children of prisoners were able to access mentoring programs that could meet their unique needs and understand their family situations.

Our Mentoring Coordinator carefully matches youth from ages 5-15 are with carefully screened adult mentors who make a year commitment to be involved in providing youth with socialization activities and a positive adult role models. Mentors can also be trained to be involved in transporting youth to visits with their parents in prison. We are currently serving 23 children in this program with a goal to serve 50.
