Taking STEPS Against Domestic Violence Program - The Program

T

he Taking Steps and Youth CAP Programs provide comprehensive support and clinical intervention to survivors of domestic violence. Utilizing a crisis intervention staff of culturally competent advocates who speak a variety of languages (including Spanish, Arabic, Russian, Italian, French, Romanian, Creole and American Sign Language) is available on a daily basis to provide case management services and crisis counseling.

In addition, the Taking Steps Against Domestic Violence Program offers individual and group counseling, DV victims legal advocate services, assistance with housing issues and, linkages and referrals to community-based services.

PROGRAM: Youth Changing Abusive Patterns (Youth CAP) Program

The Youth CAP Program educates youth between the ages of 14 and 22 about the consequences of abusive relationships and the components of healthy, loving relationships.

The goal of Youth CAP is to empower youth to identify abusive behaviors and change abusive patterns through education, support and counseling.

Free services include:

  • Individual Counseling
  • Support Groups
  • Court/Legal Advocacy
  • Resource Information and Referral
  • Parenting Classes

All services are provided in a multicultural and lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, transgender friendly setting.
