Edwin Gould’s Preventive Programs are free community-based services designed to assist families in crisis.
Our services include group and individual counseling, crisis intervention, advocacy, and referrals. We provide trauma-informed, evidenced-based services incorporating models including Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) and the Parenting Journey.
Edwin Gould was among the first agencies to recognize the devastation incarceration brings to a family. The Incarcerated Mothers Program, founded in 1985, was developed to address the unique needs of mothers parenting their children from prison. Originally designed as a program to prevent foster care placement by assisting women and their children from the time of arrest, through court appearances, while detained or incarcerated, and as they return to the community, we are now exploring a program redesign to meet today’s needs.
